About Georgia 2018-07-14T21:40:18+04:00

Georgia is one of the most ancient countries in the world. It adopted Christianity as long ago as the IV Century. Located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe, Georgia continues to be strategically important for both Europe and Asia.

Although Georgia is not a large country (it has a land area of 69,700 square kilometers), it has a diverse landscape. Here you will find one of the highest mountains in Europe, dense forests, large open fields, green meadows, the subtropical Black Sea coasts, semi-deserts, swamps, the vineyards of the Kakheti region (in the Eastern part of the country), ancient churches built into the mountains, cave cities and numerous monasteries. You can also enjoy Georgian polyphonic singing, which together with our ancient winemaking methods is included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Georgian is the official language. The vast majority of the population can speak and write Georgian, which is one of the most ancient of the world’s living languages. The Georgian alphabet is one of only 14 distinct living alphabets, and consists of 33 letters.

Georgia is especially famous for its tasty and diverse cuisine, the generosity and hospitality of its people. It offers anyone an unforgettable experience, as it has something for everyone; after you visit it once, you will want to come back again and again.
