Day 1
Transfer from Tbilisi International Airport to the hotel. Checking-in to the hotel. A walk along Rustaveli Avenue, the main throughfare of Tbilisi. Sightseeing tour in Tbilisi: Old Town (Abanotubani –the ancient part of the city, known for its sulfuric baths, Meidan square – the place where the Georgian Orthodox Church, Mosque, Synagogue and Armenian Apostholic Church are located several meters away from each other, Metechi Church, ascend to Narikala Fortress by cable car, Shardeni Street with its wine cellars, cafes and art galleries). Dinner at the restaurant with traditional Georgian dishes, master class in mtsvadi making, winetasting. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Jvari Monastery, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral which are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites;Samtavro Church and Nunnery of St. Nino, a brief walk along picturesque streets of Mtskheta. Mtatsminda (Holy Mountain), St. David Church (XIX c). Cathedral “Sameba” (Holy Trinity), the highest church in Georgia. A brief walk along the renovated David Agmashenebeli Avenue (King David the BuilderAvenue). Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti, located in the southern part of Georgia, bordered by Armenia and Turkey to the south and southwest.Foka Monastery, built on the shore of Paravani Lake 2073 meters above sea level in the 11th century. According to the legend, St. Nino stopped here for a rest in the 4th century.Khertvisi Fortress, one of the oldest and best preserved fortresses (X-XI cc). Picnic. The rock-hewn town of Vardzia, built during the reign of King George III and his daughter Queen Tamara in XII c. Departure to Akhaltsikhe, checking-in to the hotel, dinner, free time. Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 4
Breakfast at the hotel. Sapara Monastery (X-XIV cc), consisting of several structures: St. Saba church, bell tower, small chapels and cells. Recently restored medieval Rabati Fortress and Zarzma Monastery founded by the monk Serapion in VIII c. In case of good weather, we offer an opportunity to visit the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory.Arrival inAkhaltsikhe, free time. Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 5
Breakfast at the hotel. St. George’sMonastery (“Green Monastery”) located in the village of Chitakhevi. It was built by the disciples of St. GrigolKhandzteli in IX c. Departure to Borjomi, a resort town located in the picturesque Borjomi Gorge. A walk along the Borjomi Park, where you can taste natural Borjomi mineral water and take a cable car to Borjomi Plateau to enjoy breathtaking views of the town. A walk through LikaniPark, where the Romanov Palace is situated. It was built by a well-known architect Leon Benois as a summer residence of Grand Duke Nikolay Mikhailovich.Overnight in Borjomi.
Day 6
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the region of Adjara, situated on the Black Sea coast on Georgia’s southwestern border with Turkey. Arrival in Batumi. Checking-in to the hotel. Batumi sightseeing tour: Seaside Boulevard, Piazza Square, Sculpture of Love “Ali and Nino”, 145 m high Alphabet Tower, dancing Fountains. Free time. Overnight in Batumi.
Day 7
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time on the beach in the morning. After lunch departure to Gonio, located 15 km south of Batumi. Gonio Fortress (or Gonio-Apsaros Fortress), the oldest fortress of Georgia. Free time. Overnight in Batumi.
Day 8
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time on the beach in the morning. After lunch excursion to Batumi Botanical Garden, established in 1912. Located 9 km north of Batumi at Green Cape it contains flora from 9 photo-geographic areas. Free time.
Overnight in Batumi.
Day 9
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time. Transfer to Batumi International Airport.
Overnight in Batumi.
